IOTA features Stelarc’s StickMan/miniStickMan.
StickMan/miniStickMan is a minimal but full-body exoskeleton that algorithmically actuates the artist with six degrees-of-freedom.
Sixty-four possible combinations of gestures are generated. Sensors on StickMan generate sounds that augment the pneumatic noise and register the limb movements.
Durational performance 3:00-7:00pm, followed by the closing reception of the Bio Art Series from 7:00-8:00pm.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Stelarc is a performance artist who has visually probed and acoustically amplified his body. He has made three films of the inside of his body. Between 1976-1988 he completed 26 body suspension performances with hooks into the skin. He has used medical instruments, prosthetics, robotics, Virtual Reality systems, the Internet and biotechnology to engineer intimate and involuntary interfaces with the body.
