William Robinson

William Robinson lives and works in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a multidisciplinary artist, Robinson creates installations that combine sculpture, sound, video, performance, musical composition and printed matter. The work he creates is situational, frequently responding to specific buildings, sites and objects. Influenced and directed by his interest in sound, performance art, musicology, architecture and metallurgy, Robinson engages collaborative and poetic processes that divulge the unexpected logic, design and history of specific sites and locations. These sites are usually close to home. Robinson is a recipient of a Canada Council for the Arts Audio Research Grant (2016) and is the 2016 Sobey Art Award Atlantic Region Finalist.
